I have worked with NatSCA since 2013, first on a voluntary basis hosting annual conferences in York and Bristol, then as a trustee from 2015. I was the representative working between NatSCA and the Geological Curators’ Group until December 2019.
I am Senior Curator for the natural science collections at Bristol Culture, working with a small team of specialist curators and around 1.35 million biology and geology specimens. My work ranges from developing strategic projects, to delivering exhibitions and public events, to ensuring best practice in collections management. I have a focus on community, collaboration and current relevance, and recently led a project looking at models of support for natural science skills across the South West region (funded by the John Ellerman Foundation).
