Decolonising Natural Science Collections
November 19th 2020

NatSCA (Natural Science Collections Association) will be holding a one-day online conference on November 19th 2020, 9:50am - 4.15pm GMT.

Miranda Lowe and Subhadra Das will be leading the proceedings as keynote speakers, presenting an update on their widely shared NatSCA paper - Nature Read in Black and White: decolonial approaches to interpreting natural history collections https://natsca.org/article/2509

The programme will include papers originally selected for our May 2020 annual conference at National Museum Wales (Changing the World: Environmental Breakdown, Decolonisation and Natural Science collections.). A revised conference concentrating on environmental issues will be re-programmed for 2021. Updates on this will be given nearer the time.

This event is free for members, with opportunity for live Q&A. The event will be recorded and made freely available afterwards. NatSCA members will receive a code to register via email - if you have not received this, please contact [email protected]

Personal membership costs £20 per year, and you can join up here: http://www.natsca.org/membership
